Green and Blue Infrastructure

The regeneration plans look to enhance the valuable green spaces in Penderi, to improve them for people and nature. Creating spaces that are busy with nature and where local people feel safe to explore, relax and exercise.

This includes the design and care for natural and man-made drainage systems, like streams and rivers, alongside the natural green environment.

These together are called ‘green and blue infrastructure‘, and we already have a group of passionate and experienced people working together to bring to life what local people want to see.

Penderi has a wealth of open green space and, due to the size and scale of the green spaces, it is really important that local people influence all of the right organisations and responsible people involved in maintaining and improving what already exists.

A group has been set up to focus purely on the green spaces, the local water ways and drainage.  Water often impacts on the green spaces, by way of holding water, making the spaces muddy and impassable. If you are passionate about local green spaces and want to get involved, we would love to hear from you.

Our aim is to develop spaces that are used regularly by local people of all ages, for fun, exercise and relaxation whilst also supporting nature and the environment.
