October Half-Term Litter Picking

Over the October half-term, the Blaenymaes Drop-in Centre joined forces with McDonald’s Cwmdu, Keep Wales Tidy, and Swansea Council for a fantastic community clean-up event. The activity brought local families together through the centre’s Litter Picking Hub and gave our shared green space some much-deserved TLC.

The turnout was incredible with over 50 people – adults and children rolling up their sleeves to make a difference. It was amazing to see young people learned hands-on about recycling, teamwork, and how to care for the environment. Together, the group filled 19 green recycling bags, 18 red bags of general waste, and even helped remove an abandoned motorbike from the field!

Thanks to everyone’s effort, the field is now cleaner, safer, and ready to be enjoyed again by the whole community.

Blaenymaes Drop-in Centre is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, where you can:

♻️ Borrow litter-picking equipment to help keep our area clean
♻️ Get advice and information about community projects
